Are you doing it right?!

ARE YOU DOING IT RIGHT?!

Lets talk about shampooing and conditioning your hair...

Understand your hair type and what your hair and scalp need. So choosing your hair products accordingly is vital. For example...Using a moisturizing or hydrating shampoo on oily hair will cause unnecessary product build up and it will leave your hair more oily, limp and unmanageable. Oily hair? Try using a purifying shampoo.

Just like skincare, its about identifying your hair type for maximum hair care.

Don't take shortcuts....brush or comb gently to remove products and tangles and saturate your hair! You can't wash your body with shower gel on dry skin so same rule applies to hair.....Saturate!

Do you shampoo twice?
The first shampoo on saturated hair is all about getting rid of any build up of products and all the daily environmental stuff that our hair and skin get exposed to daily.
Only shampooing once will not be sufficient!
That second shampoo, after rinsing the first, is going to beautifully lather up your product, clean, and heal your scalp and moisturize your locks!
Never rub shampoo onto the ends of your hair, the friction on wet hair will only damage and rough up the cuticle, your scalp produces sebum just like your skin so gently wash your scalp with your fingertips and not your nails. The shampoo you rinse out will wash away any smells, product or environmental stuff!

Need conditioner?
Apply only to your mid length and ends. Use a wide tooth comb or your fingers to detangle and cover the ends - Using a wide tooth comb (or fingers) while conditioning will help rid your hair of knots when brushing and drying, and also will help with hair that's likely to frizz.

Your scalp moisturizes itself!...
Rubbing conditioner to your scalp will lead to you needing more frequent washing and oily hair.
Rinse, rinse, rinse! The slightest residue from both shampoo and conditioner will cause oily, limp hair and you will have to reach for the shampoo bottle sooner than you need too!

Your hair is at its weakest when its wet so take it easy and be gentle! Avoid rubbing your towel roughly to dry your hair and instead pat it dry and avoid friction.
Always use a leave in protector before drying /styling and applying hot tools. Even slightly damp hair will damage easily with heat so use a protector spray after every wash and before curling or straightening your precious locks!

No shortcuts. Don't be rough. Remember your hair is delicate like your skin.
Be kind to your hair and scalp… Always!
