Common wet hair mistakes!
**4 Common wet hair mistakes that will ruin your hair**
*1. Going to bed with wet hair is a NO!
When your hair is wet your cuticle is open and it isn't sealed. All the tossing and turning about while we sleep can cause not only frizzy hair ( which will also make more work to tame and deal with when you wake up!), but will cause unnecessary damage. It is so important to dry your hair before bed!
(A little tip - Its a great idea to sleep with a silk hair scarf or sleep on a silk pillowcase. If your hair is dry, over processed, or prone to frizz, sleeping with a silk head scarf is a must!
It will reduce friction and help prevent damage.)
*2. Wet hair is at its weakest.
It's more likely to break so being gentle is so important. Brush your hair before you wash it and always start from the end of your hair and work up. After gently towel drying your hair, I would recommend to always use a leave in spray conditioner, this will help brushing and also maximize smooth locks!
*3. Putting your wet hair up in a ponytail or in a bun tightly is a big mistake.
As your hair begins to dry, it shrinks and it will essentially break at the band and in tight sections that have been pulled up. If you must put your hair up when its wet, use a hair clip and put it in loosely.
*4. When using hot tools always make sure your hair is completely dry.
Using curling irons etc on even slightly wet hair will cause huge damage and burn and melt your hair and should, most definitely, be avoided!
These are some of the most common mistakes we have all made at some point!
I do hope some of you will benefit from these tips and notice positive changes to the health of your hair.
